Who this policy covers

This site, malekwebworks.com, is operated by Ahmed Malek, trading as Malek Webworks. For the purposes of data protection law, Ahmed Malek is the controller of the information described below. You can reach the controller directly at malekwebworks@gmail.com.

Information collected

When you send an enquiry

The contact form on this site asks for your name, email address, business name, website (optional), the service you're interested in, your message, and optionally a budget and timeline. This is submitted directly to Malek Webworks via Netlify Forms so it can be reviewed and responded to. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose beyond replying to your enquiry.

When you browse the site

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it — which pages are read, roughly where visitors are browsing from (country/city level, derived from IP address), what device and browser they're using, and how they arrived at the site. IP addresses are anonymised before being processed. No name, email address or enquiry content is ever sent to analytics — only the fact that a page was viewed or a button was clicked.

Analytics only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you reject it or close the banner without choosing, no analytics cookies are set and no browsing data is sent to Google.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses a small number of items stored in your browser:

• mww-theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Always on; essential to how the site displays.
• mww-cookie-consent — remembers your Accept/Reject choice from the cookie banner, so you're not asked again. Always on; essential to remembering your preference.
• _ga, _ga_* — set by Google Analytics 4 only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Used to distinguish visitors and sessions in aggregate reporting. You can withdraw this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for malekwebworks.com, which will show the cookie banner again on your next visit.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, enquiry data is processed on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or Malek Webworks' legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). Analytics cookies are only set with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given via the cookie banner, in line with the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Who your information is shared with

Two service providers process data on Malek Webworks' behalf:

• Netlify — hosts this site and receives contact form submissions.
• Google (Google Analytics 4) — processes anonymised analytics data, only when you've accepted the cookie banner.

No information is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.

How long information is kept

Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and, where a project goes ahead, for the duration of that working relationship plus a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months before being automatically deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask to access the information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how it's used, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email malekwebworks@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and professionals, and isn't directed at children. It doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site or the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
